River rafting by canoe, kayak and tube

Several nearby recreational tourism businesses are very active during the summer season to ensure you have the most wonderful time during your stay in the Gaspé region.

La Petite Rochelle Interpretation Center
Located a few hundred meters from La Maison verte, this Center teaches us about the history of the Acadians and what they suffered during the years of crisis and war and upheavals such as the deportation.
The village of La Petite-Rochelle was created during the deportation of the Acadians and existed from 1758 to 1760. It was home to 1,200 to 1,500 people before the British set fire to the village during the Battle of the Restigouche in 1760.

Snowmobile
With its abundant snowfall and hundreds of kilometers of snowmobile trails, this area of the Gaspé Peninsula is a truly unique destination for snowmobiling, usually starting very early from mid-November to mid-May (proven). The trails start directly from here and will be right at your doorstep!

Miguasha National Park
Here, fossil fish and plants tell our story, that of the origin of the first terrestrial vertebrates, 380 million years ago, at a time when strange species began their passage from water to land. A true treasure of natural heritage, the park's fossil cliff, listed on the prestigious UNESCO World Heritage List, makes this area the best place in the world to come and discover the world of fossil fish from the Devonian period in a fun, dynamic and scientific way.

Ice fishing
In February, when the river's surface has traded the incessant movement of the sky's reflection on the waves for opaque waves of powdery snow created by northerly winds, hundreds of shelters are set up on the frozen river. Ice fishing time has finally returned. Family and friends gather around a hole cut in the ice to catch smelt, and the most fabulous stories are told.

Pointe-à-la-Croix Birdwatching Trails
In the heart of the municipality, the birdwatching trails with their 9 kilometers of route will allow you to spend pleasant moments.
Four observation towers allow you to admire the marshes and observe a variety of birds nesting in different sectors of this diverse ecosystem on this large, unique territory. During the winter, use the trails for snowshoeing or cross-country skiing.

Kempt Falls and Picot Falls Hikes
Three closely spaced falls located on the course of an unnamed stream, near its mouth in the West Kempt River. These falls can be reached by taking the Kempt Falls Trail from Kempt Road. It is this road that gave them their name. Kempt Road is well known to the inhabitants of this part of the Gaspé Peninsula, since it was the first route to cross the Gaspé Peninsula, passing through Causapscal. Its name evokes the memory of James Kempt, Lieutenant Governor of Nova Scotia from 1820 to 1828 and Administrator of Upper Canada from 1828 to 1830; he took this road to travel from the Restigouche to Métis.
